4th International Symposium on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (SIPAM 2012), Djerba, Thailand, 03 22-24 2012 - prize
On 03 22-24 2012, on the island of Djerba, took place the 4th International Symposium on Medicinal and Aromatic plants (SIPAM 2012). The patronage of the meeting performed Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, and the organizers were: IRA (Institut des Régions Arides), IRES (Institution de la Recherche et de l’Enseignement Supérieur agricoles) ICARDA (International Center of Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas) and ISHS (International Society of Horticultural Science). The Symposium was attended by about 400 people, who came to this picturesque island from many countries in Africa, Asia and Europe. Employees of the Department of Vegetable and Medicinal Plants - prof. Ewa Osinska and Dr. Wieslaw Rosłon won first prize for best poster presentation Influence of the method of stabilization on the quality of Satureja spp herb.

Oral presentations entitled Differences between cowslip (Primula veris L.) and oxlip (Primula elatior L./Hill.) and their intraspecific variability in respect of accumulation of biologically active compounds by B±czek K., Węglarz Z., Przybył J. L., Mirgos M., Geszprych A., Chmielecki R., Jędrzejewska A., and Functional traits of selected clones of southern sweet-grass (Hierochloë australis /Schrad./ Roem. & Schult.) by B±czek K., Węglarz Z., Przybył J.L., Ejdys M., Geszprych A., Angielczyk M., given by Dr Katarzyna B±czek during workshop Phytochemical Analysis of Therapeutically Active Constituents of Pharmaceutically Important Medicinal Plants was awarded for the best oral presentation.
